Arundel High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
For the first time in over 20 years, the Arundel wrestling team claimed the county championship, beating state ranked teams such as South River, Chesapeake, Annapolis and Old Mill. It was an absolute total team effort as Arundel was the only team to place all 14 of its wrestlers in this weekend’s tournament held at Annapolis High School. After placing 7 in the semi-finals, 5 went on to the finals match and of those five, 3 emerged as individual champions. Many others wrestled back through the consolation bracket to place and help propel their team to the top.
Congrats to the entire team for achieving such an elusive milestone! C-O-U-N-T-Y C-H-A-M-P-S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
