Howard County issued the following announcement on April 10.

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) has partnered with Bach to Rock (B2R) to provide professional development for music staff and support school events. The partnership was formalized with an official partnership signing on Tuesday, April 2 at Bach to Rock in Fulton, Maryland.

Under the terms of the agreement, B2R will provide professional development opportunities for HCPSS music staff. B2R will host music teachers at its Fulton location to provide instruction and hands-on experiences in the use of DJ equipment and guidance on incorporating students into mixing, blending and programming songs. B2R will also provide free music entertainment services for nearby HCPSS school events.

HCPSS Music Coordinator Terry Eberhardt, Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School Principal Tiffany Tresler and Marriotts Ridge High School Director of Theatre Arts Jason Beall joined Bach to Rock Site Director Samir Moussa to sign the formal partnership agreement at the April 2 event.

Bach to Rock offers music education to students of all ages, from early childhood through high school and beyond. B2R builds technique, fosters teamwork and enhances self-esteem through private lessons, band instruction and public performances.

The Howard County Public School System’s Partnerships Office has united schools with more than 1,000 businesses and community organizations to enhance the educational experience of Howard County students. Partnerships benefit schools, businesses and the entire community by leveraging the resources of all participants. Partners may commit human or financial resources or other support.
