Report: 12.4% of Howard Community College students repaying loans are in default

Out of 937 Howard Community College students repaying loans in 2015, 117 were in default, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

That gives the two-year public school in Columbia a default rate of 12.4 percent for that year – 2.6 percentage points higher than in 2014 and 3.4 points higher than in 2013.

Howard Community College had 34 more students in default in 2015 than in 2014 and 29 more than in 2013.
