Howard County issued the following announcement.
Attendees at this HCPSS/The Council of Elders Academy workshop will learn about supporting your child’s social, emotional and mental well-being. Resources will be shared regarding depression and suicide, as well as how to support students transitioning from elementary to middle school and from middle to high school.
Dr. Jackie Douge, Director of the Bureau of Child Health at the Howard County Health Department, will discuss healthy stages and key warning signs for children and adolescents. Additionally, HCPSS representatives will offer strategies to address students’ social and emotional needs.
