GP Strategies Corporation issued the following announcement on Oct. 31.
Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX) announced they won four Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Learning In Practice awards. Winners were announced during CLO's Fall Symposium event earlier this month. The Learning In Practice awards recognize industry leaders that have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of workforce learning and development programs.
GP Strategies, in collaboration with its customers, received the following awards:
Practitioner Awards
Gold – Business Impact Award
A major automotive brand held a large-scale, interactive ride-and-drive training event, featuring head-to-head driving experiences aimed at building enthusiasm and sales momentum among its salesforce. Touring the country with stops at five different auto racetrack facilities, the event provided a hands-on learning experience for both dealers and their sales consultants. The event showcased the competitive advantages of the brand's new products and highlighted direct opportunities to learn and play with all the new in-vehicle technologies. Following the event, the team engaged in a rigorous statistical impact study, seeking to both prove that the event was worth it and to learn how to improve such events in the future. Dealerships attending the dealer and consultant events showed a greater increase in sales (1.9%) than non-attendees (0.3%) during the four months after the program compared to the same four months of the prior year.
Gold – Business Partnership Award
To increase global learning efficiency and effectiveness, a major automotive brand partnered with GP Strategies to establish the Global Learning Network (GLN) composed of learning leaders across the globe. Results of this alliance included the development of global governance models, a global asset repository, and global learning templates; a partnership among learning leaders and global supplier partners; and approximately 5% global cost avoidance. The most important impact the GLN has had on the organization is having cultivated and cemented a partnership between regional learning leaders, business partners, and supplier partners.
Provider Awards
Silver – Excellence in Blended Learning
Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) recognized that their transformative business strategy would not succeed without a powerful people strategy focused on developing employees at all levels, with an emphasis on supporting the managers who lead the transformation. To address this need, BMS partnered with GP Strategies to introduce an online learning platform that could reach 4,500 managers, helping them to improve their skills in coaching and drive performance. This innovative, blended learning strategy was implemented, and the BMS Manager Capability Index has gone from 74.7% in 2015 to 81.6% in 2017, a 6.9% increase.
Bronze – Excellence in Partnerships
BMS transformed its approach to learning to reflect the way today's learner wants to be engaged. BMS collaborated with GP Strategies to bring the reimagined learner experience to life. This initiative, titled Reimagining Learning @ BMS, revolutionized the learner experience for BMS employees to be immediate, interactive, integrated, and individualized. This new approach to learning provided access to development opportunities that directly connected to the company's core behaviors and leadership capabilities, thereby providing the targeted learning support all employees needed. The results included an impressive 67% increase in use of online digital resources.
"The Learning In Practice awards are a benchmark for enterprise learning and development," said Mike Prokopeak, vice president and editor in chief at Human Capital Media, the parent company of Chief Learning Officer magazine. "This year's group of winners is no exception. From Fortune 500 CLOs to learning leaders at midsized businesses as well as progressive vendor companies, they are all leading examples of the powerful personal and organizational impact that learning creates."
