CITY OF ABERDEEN: Fall Yard Waste Reminder

Fall leaves

City of Aberdeen issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.

One of the best things about Fall is watching leaves softly dance down and fall to the ground. However, in order to maintain our City streets, our street sweeper will come around periodically and clean up the roadways. While DPW keeps up with leaves in the street, we ask that residences keep up with leaves/grass clippings on your property.

Our street sweeper is designed to handle natural leaf fall on public streets. When residents blow their leaves and other yard waste into the roadway, it not only makes it more difficult for us to do our job, but also blocks the drainage system, and becomes a hazard for bike/motorcycle drivers.
