Howard County Library System Board of Trustees issued the following announcement.
From colonial town to modern manufacturing center, we survey Baltimore's roots as a center for commerce, business, and industry. As the 19th century began, immigrants flowed into local village, which merged to become the city of Baltimore with the Port of Baltimore as the focal point for this immense growth. Raw materials arrived, finished goods were created, and an increasing population contributed to the labor that made Baltimore an industrial landmark. Discuss the changes, watch as the landscape becomes urban, and touch on the thoughts and events shaping the citizens' lives.
In partnership with Baltimore Museum of Industry.
