HOROWITZ VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER: Future Health Care Workers to Train on Opioid Abuse to be held September 17

Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center issued the following announcement on Sept. 14.

Howard Community College Partnered with Howard County Health Department to Teach Students

WHAT:

To educate future health care workers about opioid abuse, Howard Community College is hosting a special training for its newest students studying in the nursing and allied health fields. Students will also receive education about the administration of Naloxone, which is more commonly known as Narcan and reverses an opioid overdose.

The one-hour training is part of Health Sciences Spirit Day, which is organized by the college’s Health Sciences Division. Howard Community College offers degree programs in such fields as nursing, cardiovascular technology, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, and medical laboratory technician.
