Columbia Association issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.
A Howard County Recreation and Parks project to improve a section of pathway at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia is set to begin on or about Monday, August 13. The project will include the widening of the pathway to 10 feet from the Village of Owen Brown Bridge 25 (OBBR25) and ending at Farbell Row access path to be consistent with Columbia Association path specifications, milling the existing asphalt at designated depths and covering the pathway with a new surface mix asphalt. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed mid-September.
During the project, this section of pathway will be closed. Signs will be posted in the area of the project to alert pedestrians of the closure.
