DTC Partnership issued the following announcement on June 18.
A Howard County project to give priority to pedestrians and cyclists crossing the east and south sides of the Little Patuxent Parkway and Broken Land Parkway intersection, including the Downtown Columbia Trail crossing, is scheduled to begin on or about Thursday, June 28, and is expected to be completed in one day.
Dedicated right-turn signals and “No Turn on Red Arrow” signs will be installed for eastbound and northbound traffic, prohibiting a right turn on red. Right-turn arrows will remain red while adjacent pedestrian signals display “Walk” or a flashing “Don’t Walk.”
Signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the upcoming change to the intersection. Additional signage will advise motorists of the revised traffic pattern once it is in place.
