HOWARD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE: Neogov Has Launched a New Online Application Format For Your Convenience.

Howard County Department Of Fire And Rescue issued the following announcement on June 17.

Welcome to Howard County's online application process! Now you apply online for positions with Howard County Government by 11:59 p.m. on the closing date identified for each of our job listings. You will not be able to submit your application online after that date and time.

Eligibility List Preference for Persons with a Disability

Howard ounty Council Bill 40-2012 establishes a preference for persons with a disability who are rated most qualified for the position to be placed on eligibility lists developed for vacant positions.

Priority consideration is given to the following persons in the following order:

1. A veteran rated by the Department of Veterans Affairs with a compensable service-connected disability of 30 % or more

2. An individual with a developmental disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability that has been medically proven in accordance with 5 C.F.R. 213.3102(U)(2)

If you wish to claim either of the above preferences for a Howard County Government position, you must respond to the question and follow the instructions on the application form.

This information is voluntary, but must be provided in order to claim employment preference. The information will be kept confidential and will not be used to evaluate your application.

Following is a list of examples of acceptable documentation for proof of a disability:

•Statements or letters on a physician's/medical professional's letterhead stationery.

•Statements, records or letters from a Federal Government agency that issues or provides disability benefits.

•Statements, records or letters from a State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency counselor.

•Certification from a private Vocational Rehabilitation or other Counselor that issues or provides disability benefits.

To apply, simply scroll down this page and click on the job title you are interested in and click on the "Apply" link. Job vacancies are updated weekly.

First-Time Users

You will need to create an account and select a Username and Password. After your account has been established, you can build an application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link. This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening. This will allow you to view other Job Listings, check your Application Status, retrieve your Username and/or Password, or complete a Job Interest Card by simply clicking the Login button below:

Some communication with applicants will be conducted through electronic email.

You may only apply to Job Listings NOT Job Descriptions

NOTE:

If you create your application FIRST, please remember to return to the Job Listings, select the job you are interested in and click the APPLY link. You will need to complete steps 2 - 5 to certify and submit your application and receive confirmation of application received.

You ust have an email address to complete your application. If you need one, we suggest opening an email account at one of the numerous free email services. Be sure to create an authentic email account.If you submit your application to a current listing and wish to make changes to it you must create a new application and apply again (you may not edit the application once you submit to a job)

It is important that your application show all your relevant education and work experience. Although you can stop at any point during the application process, we suggest having complete dates and numbers of your employment and certifications accessible.
